“Vee Laul” on inspireeritud Eestimaa loodusest ja lapsepõlve mälestustest, kui väiksena keset Pärnumaa metsasid asuvas vanavanemate talus olin. Miks ma kirjutasin laulu veest? Vesi on läbiv element ja esindab ajatust. Vesi on alati siin ja praegu. Vesi on igivana. Ta kannab endas palju tarkust. Vesi, nagu hingamine, sümboliseerib ühendust, ühendatust. Vesi toob elu.

Ühte hetke Vee Laulu tekkeprotsessist sooviksin ma teiega jagada:

kujuta ette, et lebad liival, ookeani kaldal ja kuuled laineid rahulikult randumas, rütmiliselt ja lõpmatult, üks teise järel. Sa suled silmad, hingad ja lõdvestud. Kuulatad ja kuuled oma hingetõmbeid, väljahingamist. Ühtäkki kuuled, et ka meri hingab. See ei olegi lihtsalt lainekohin vaid ookean, mis on sinuga koos hingamas sisse… ja välja… Ja siis sa saad aru, et sa ei ole üksi…

“Vee Laul” (Water Song)

“Vee Laul” (Water Song) is inspired by Estonian nature and my childhood memories as I stayed in my grandparents’ farmhouse in the woods of south-west Estonia, between the sea and the river. So why a song about water? Water is one of the main elements and represents timelessness. Water is always here and now. Water is ancient. It holds so much wisdom within. Water, like breath, symbolises connection and connectedness. Water brings life.

I would like to share a special moment with you from how Water Song came to be:

imagine lying on the beach on the ocean shore and hearing the waves calmly lapping, rhythmically and endlessly, one after the other. You close your eyes, breathe and relax. You listen in and hear your breaths, your exhales. Suddenly you hear that the sea is breathing, too. It’s not just the sound of the waves but the ocean that is breathing in… and out… with you. And then you realize that you’re not alone…

“Vee Laul” (Das Lied vom Wasser)

“Vee Laul” (Das Lied vom Wasser) ist von der estnischen Natur und Kindheitserinnerungen inspiriert, wenn ich als Kind auf dem Bauernhof meiner Großeltern mitten in den Wäldern war. Warum ein Lied über’s Wasser? Wasser ist ein allgegenwärtiges Element und steht für Zeitlosigkeit. Wasser ist immer hier und jetzt. Wasser ist uralt. Es trägt viel Weisheit in sich. Wasser, wie auch das Atmen, symbolisiert Verbindung, Verbundenheit. Wasser bringt Leben.

Ich möchte einen Moment des Entstehungsprozesses vom Lied mit Ihnen teilen:

Stell dir vor du liegst auf dem Sand, am Ufer des Ozeans und kannst hören, wie die Wellen friedlich nacheinander plätschern, rhythmisch und endlos. Du schließt deine Augen, atmest und entspannst dich. Du hörst hin und hörst deine Atemzüge. Plötzlich hörst du, dass auch das Meer atmet. Es ist nicht nur das Rauschen der Wellen, sondern das Meer, das ein- und ausatmet… Und dann begreifst du, dass du nicht alleine bist…

Making of The Water Song “Vaata, vaata (Vee Laul)”

This song was recorded in a Sound Studio on the Canary Islands, with the exception of the percussion, which, due to the drummer’s summer location, was recorded at a completely different location – Casco Studios in Aarhus, Denmark. In the video clip, you can see Bruno Casco’s innovative “making” of water drops. 😉 On the photo: Monika Waligóra, percussion.

Neues Lied Entsteht… Das Lied vom Wasser “Vaata, vaata (Vee Laul)”

Dieses Lied wurde in einem Tonstudio auf den Kanarischen Inseln aufgenommen, mit Ausnahme der Percussion, die wegen dem Sommeraufenthalts der Schlagzeugerin ganz in einem anderen Ort – Casco Studios in Aarhus, Dänemark – aufgenommen wurde. Im Videoclip sieht man Bruno Casco’s innovatives Kreieren von Wassertropfen. 😉 Auf dem Foto: Monika Waligóra, perkussion.

Unelaul “Lapselapsele” on inspireeritud Eestimaa loodusest ning minu vanaema unelauludest ja leelotustest. Ta laulis mulle tihti oma vanas eesti murrakus, kui väiksena keset Pärnumaa metsasid asuvas vanavanemate talus olin.

Mullu talvel (2022) tekkis koostöö idee flamenco kitarristiga Martin Złotnicki, et sulatada kokku rahulik põhjamaine folk ja rütmikas hispaania kitarrimäng. Sellest sümbioosist sündis rida omanäoliseid laule.

Lullaby “Lapselapsele”

The lullaby “Lapselapsele” (For the Grandchild) is inspired by the wild nature of Estonia and my grandmother’s lullabies and chants. She often sang to me in her old Estonian dialect when I stayed over night at my grandparents’ farm in the forests southwest of Estonia.

Last winter, the idea of a collaboration with the flamenco guitarist Martin Złotnicki arose, to fuse together calm Nordic folk music and rhythmic Spanish guitar. This symbiosis gave birth to a series of unique songs.

Schlaflied “Lapselapsele”

Das Schlaflied „Lapselapsele“ (Für das Enkelkind) ist inspiriert von der wilden Natur Estlands und dem alt-estnischen Gesang und Singsang meiner Großmutter. Als ich noch klein war, bin ich oft auf dem Bauernhof meiner Großeltern gewesen, mitten in den Wäldern und Moorlandschaften südwestlich von Estland, zwischen dem Meer und dem Fluss.

Letzten Winter entstand die Idee einer Zusammenarbeit mit dem Flamenco-Gitarristen Martin Złotnicki, um ruhigen nordischen Folk und rhythmisches spanisches Gitarrenspiel zu vereinen. Aus dieser Symbiose entstand eine Reihe einzigartiger Lieder.
